TheCircularLab opens the call for its new Circular Design Challenges

  • The aim is to encourage collaboration between entrepreneurs and professionals in the circular economy and packaging recycling sector.
  • They will take place in Madrid and Barcelona during the month of October.

TheCircularLab, the first innovation centre on circular economy created in Europe by Ecoembes, in collaboration with Uxer School, have launched a new edition of their Circular Design Challenges, where participants will learn how to apply Google’s DESIGN SPRINT methodology in a practical and collaborative way. With this project, TheCircularLab, where the impulse of entrepreneurship is a strategic pillar for its development, aims to foster collaborations with entrepreneurs and professionals in the sector of circular economy and packaging recycling.

In this way, the participants in the Challenges will have to solve a challenge with a positive impact related to Citizen Science in order to devise solutions that improve the recycling capacity of the citizen. The potential of the solutions provided will be evaluated by TheCircularLab team and then implemented through its line of innovation with entrepreneurs and start-ups. Attendees will receive a diploma accrediting their participation and, in addition, members of the winning teams will be automatically admitted to the third edition of the Bootcamp of Circular Design Sprint, which will take place in 2020.

Functioning and content of the course
TheCircularLab will present the challenge and the information needed to understand it. Subsequently, several experts in Google’s Design Sprint methodology will lead the 5 phases (understanding, diverging deciding, prototyping and testing) to find the best solutions.
On the other hand, for the work dynamics, 5 groups of 6 people each will be created and during the Challenge, the participating teams will use Design Thinking techniques to generate new ideas and validate them with real users. In this way, development times will be reduced and risks in decision making will be minimized.

Do you want to participate?
TheCircularLab looks for the best entrepreneurial profiles and multidisciplinary professionals with experience in different fields to balance and achieve the most complete teams with the greatest potential.
The Challenge in Madrid will take place on 5 October in the space ‘Utopicus Gran Vía’; while in Barcelona the event will take place on 26 October in ‘Utopicus Plaça Catalunya’. Places are limited to 30 participants per Circular Design Challenge.
